Description:
Gum rosin has been general used for ink, adhesive, paint, food
and rubber industry.
ProductDescription
Rosin, alsocalled colophony or Greek pitch, is a solid form of resin obtainedfrom pines and some other plants, mostly conifers, produced byheating fresh liquid resin to vaporize the volatile liquid terpenecomponents. It is semi-transparent and varies in color from yellowto black. At room temperature rosin is brittle, but it melts atstove-top temperatures. It chiefly consists of different resinacids, especially abietic acid.
SuggestedApplication
Rosin product isused for the manufacturing of paper, paint, soap and printing ink.Since rosin is easily softened and oxidized, in the oil paintindustry, the carboxylation reaction of resin acid is usuallyemployed to produce resinate for further use. While in theproducing of synthetic rubber and printing ink, resin acid ischanged into disproportionate rosin, polymerized rosin, hydrogenated rosin, etc for further use by its double bondreaction.
